Water supply includes water production, water storage, water treatment and water distribution. A well-planned water supply is a prerequisite for the success of the project when it comes to having sufficient clean water.
A rule from the water industry is "no water supply without sewage disposal". The used, dirty water must be disposed of in such a way that no diseases can be transmitted from it. The sanitary facilities should be designed to be used by the population. Sometimes even small structural changes are enough to achieve this.
In order to increase production in agriculture, the land must be irrigated most of the time. The water demand depends on the plant, the vegetation period and the project location. The irrigation method depends on local conditions. Sometimes the land must also being drained.
Where I'm working
I am mainly in Africa. Should you need advice for a project in Asia or South and Central America, this is no problem.
